The Wetlands Institute
Ten minutes from Concord Suites, the Wetlands Institute is a unique resource for those that love to explore the wonders of nature. Occupying 34 acres of pristine wetlands just outside Stone Harbor, the institute is dedicated to research, public education and the preservation of New Jersey’s wetlands and coastal ecosystem.
Climb the observation tower for an osprey’s-eye view of the landscape - a rich habitat of diversity and beauty, a spectacular vantage point to enjoy sunset.
Visitors love to meet the wildlife up-close - especially during diamondback terrapin season - when dozens of turtles of every size are in residence.
A full schedule of programs is offered, from guided walks and bird watching to lectures, back bay kayak tours and “Featured Creature” hour for children.
